A clean install fixes a lot of things. Everything but the network/internet worked immediately, so I knew it had to be something to do with the NIC and just could not find that setting on my own. In BIOS is there an option to disable onboard LAN? Clean install working beautifully and a definite speed boost too. I use the latter method for remote login. Then again i put the battery alone not power. The network adapter icon also reappeared in the control panel settings.
