Test: Pull out ethernet, or turn off router before login, see if it helps, if it does, use fix. To make a long story short, when I opened my desktop yesterday, no desktop icon appeared and there was also no START bar/menu. I tried the prevx.com fix which did nothing. Desktop Not Showing Windows 7 I would open "netplwiz" and uncheck the boxes which asks for a password. Try launching Explorer.exe from Task Manager, and see if it gives you an error.

After about 7 minutes, the desktop would come up normally. now it finish and reboot you computer. Failure-Security Options Can you help please?? weblink Funny thing is that my PC boots normally after I disconnect one or more hard drives.
But like I said, when I disconnect one or more drives, I can boot normally (no log-on issues, because I deactivated UAC: as the sole user I don't need it). everything should be ok, but 1 last step.
