I am afraid to reassign letters because everything is partitioned and it is showing a disk 0 and Udisk, I'm not sure which is supposed to be the USB drive. I've seen this problem with 1394 Firewire drives and also with SATA disk drive arrays. we just got some new computers that had a muticard reader in them. Well written, easy to understand, and now it makes sense why this would happen in an environment where drive letters change from time to time.
